ITH the present specimen-book we hand to our business-friends a small cata-
logue^ which contains our latest and the most useful poster type^ and which
is at the same time very handy^ corresponding in size to most of our other
catalogues and specimen-books* The short space, only at disposal, allows
indeed a limited space for the representation of the single typesizes, but we
presume they suffice to give an evident, clear illustration of the forms and the
sizes of faces, borders and figures not shown in the book* C All the poster-
faces we are able to deliver including the older faces (those not shown in this book) are represented on
page 8 of this book in a reduced size* €C If no special wish is expressed, all posterfaces are made from the
smallest size shown in this book up to the size of 180 points rising from 12 to 12 points (compare the scale
shown below), above this size rising from 24 to 24 points* C Larger sizes above 720 points are only made upon
special desire* «C Faces up to 144 points can also be delivered in type metal* Their price is about three times
that of wood type of the same style and size* €E Wood type of current size and style are mostly kept on stock
and can be quickly delivered* Besides our department of poster type is so well provided with machines, invented
and constructed in our own factory, that we are able to furnish all faces not on stock in a very short time*
€i: As all our business friends know, that it has at all times been the endeavour of our firm to produce but the
best and most appropriate, we are inclined to hope, that they in case of necessity will make use of the present
offer, more particulary as we take but hard, try and well impregnated pear-tree-wood for our wood type, and

nous devons nous limiter dans Tillustration des lettres; ainsi nous ne pouvons montrer
sur les pages suivantes qu'une choix de lettres, bordures et chiffres de calendrier* Tous
nos caracteres d'aff iche aussi les plus anciens caracteres non montres dans cette brochure
sont exposes en petite echelle sur page 8* C Nous executons tous les caracteres du plus
petit corps (montres dans les exemples) jusqu'a 180 points, grandissant de 12 a 12 points, tandis que les
corps plus grands que ceux-ci, jusqu^au 720 points, augmentent de 24 points^ Nous ne fabriquons des carac-
teres au dela de cette grandeur que sur desir speciaK CC Les caracteres jusqu'^au 144 points seront executes
de meme en alliage; cette execution coute a peu pres le triple du prix des lettres en bois du meme genre
et de la meme grandeur^ €L Les caracteres en bois, qui sont les plus en cours et en grandeur, se trouvent
presque toujours en magasin et se livrent en peu de temps^ Notre departement equipe de machines, inventees
et construites dans notre propre atelier, peut aussi fournir des caracteres — pas en magasin — avec court delai^
C 11 est connu a nos clients, que nous nous sommes toujours efforces de ne fournir que des produits de toute
